Tessa Emily Hall writes inspirational yet authentic YA fiction to show teens they’re not alone. Her passion for shedding light on clean entertainment and media for teens led her to a career as an Associate Agent at Hartline Literary Agency, YA Acquisitions Editor for Illuminate YA (LPC Imprint), and Founder/Editor of Pursue Magazine at http://pursuemagazine.net/.
She was born in South Carolina and continues to live there. “I don’t plan on moving — not any time soon, at least!”
Tessa fondly remembers when her dad would go on out-of-country business trips and bring her back miniature mugs. “I loved to sip on my parent’s coffee any time they would allow me, and to this day my love for coffee has only grown. So these are definitely items I’ll probably keep forever!” She now collects adult-sized coffee mugs and frequently adds to her collection when she travels.
It’s only fitting that this maturing coffee aficionado’s ardent thirst for the aromatic brew would couple with her unrivaled hunger for God and seep into her first teen devotional, Coffee Shop Devos released by Bethany House in September 2018.
“Although God is the Ultimate Author of my future, I always ask Him to give me the desires He wants me to have. And right now, my burning desire is this: To write books that transform lives and portray the power of God’s steadfast love and His unending grace.”
“Let’s strive to become as protective over our time with God as we are with our daily cup of brew. Let’s become addicted to our ‘spiritual caffeine fix.’ Then, if we ever skip our quiet time and our friends see that we’re acting cranky, they won’t assume it’s due to a lack of caffeine; rather, they’ll simply whisper amongst each other, saying, ‘Don’t mind her. She hasn’t had her time with Jesus yet.'” —Coffee Shop Devos: Daily Pick-Me-Ups for Teen Girls
